Dirk Müller Sensei Seminar in Toronto: November 22-24, 2019

Naka Ima will be hosting a seminar with Dirk Müller on November 22-24, 2019. Dirk Müller Sensei, 6th dan, started training in Aikido in 1986 and has been running the Shoshin Dojo in Hamburg, Germany since 2004. He is a current student of Seishiro Endo Shihan.

Endo Shihan in Toronto November 1-3, 2019

Endo Shihan will be back in Toronto for an Aikido seminar on November 1-3, 2019. Toronto will be his only North American stop for 2019.

Shaolin Kung Fu: New 10-Week Course Starting Nov 8th

We will be hosting another 10-week Shaolin Kung Fu course with Shifu Yuan Jing, a 34th-generation Shaolin Warrior Monk at Naka Ima Aikikai beginning on Friday, November 8th. This 10-week course will take place each Friday from 8 - 9 pm.

Heidi Grot Sensei Seminar in Toronto: July 5-7, 2019

Naka Ima will be hosting a seminar with Heidi Grot on July 5-7, 2010 Heidi Grot, 4th Dan. Heidi has been practicing Aikido since 1985 and follows the teachings of Franck Noel Shihan and Yamashima Shihan.

Isshinkai Seminar on June 7-9, 2019

Isshinkai translates as one heart; one mind. This June Naka Ima is happy to open up its doors and mat to 5 instructors from across North America in a joint, open study and deep exploration of current Aikido practice.

Guillermo Balderas Seminar: August 17-19, 2018

Naka Ima will be hosting a seminar with Guillermo Balderas on August 17-19, 2018. Guillermo Balderas, 4th Dan, began his Aikido training in Granada, Spain with Luís Mochón Sensei (a deshi of Endo Shihan). He currently runs the Aikikai Cuna del Genil Dojo in Güéjar Sierra and continues to follow the teachings of Endo Sensei, Matti Sensei, Ariga Sensei and Luis Sensei.

Introducing the Naka Ima Karate Club

Starting September 7, 2017, we will be offering karate classes to men and women of all ages. The classes will be taught by Sensei Timothy Mahoney, a Godan (5th-degree black belt) in Traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate.

Matti Joensuu Sensei Seminar in Toronto: August 18-20, 2017

Naka Ima will be hosting a seminar with Matti Joensuu on August 18-20, 2017. Matti Sensei is a long-time student of Endo Sensei, and conducts many seminars around Europe. The seminar will be held at Naka Ima's dojo in Oakwood Village, Toronto.

Naka Ima Kids Summer Camp: Aikido and Art Classes in Toronto

Naka Ima is holding an Aikido and Art Class Summer Day Camp in the GTA for children between 4 and 12 years old.

The Naka Ima summer camp includes fitness, martial arts, painting, clay work and and sculpture activites. Weeklong sessions run in July and August 2017 between 9am - 4pm daily.

Naka Ima welcomes Toronto Kenjutsu

Starting November 2016, Toronto Kenjutsu will be training at the Naka Ima dojo. Toronto Kenjutsu, founded in 2007 by Corey Reid, is dedicated to the practice of classical Japanese swordsmanship - specifically the style of Katori Shinto Ryu as taught by Master Sugino Yukihiro.
